PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY SCHRIEVER CHAPTER 147

LMU, UCLA, and USC AFROTC : The Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps is a college-based program for training commissioned officers of the United States Air Force.

San Pedro High School JROTC : The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, a Federal program sponsored by the U. S. Armed Forces, is designed “to instill in students in secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, and personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.”

Los Angeles AFB Spouses Club:The Spouses Club provides college scholarships for children of military and DoD civilians serving in the Los Angeles area.

CyberPatriot:  CyberPatriot is a national high school cyber defense competition created by the Air Force Association to inspire high school students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future.

TARC: The Team America Rocketry Challenge, the only aerospace-specific national STEM competition, inspires and attracts the next generation of engineers and technicians to join the aerospace industry.

Visions of Exploration: Visions is sponsored by the Air Force Association and USA Today Education to provide educators with STEM curriculum resources designed to enhance students’ reading, writing, and comprehension skills; to prepare students for the world beyond the classroom; and to inspire them to become explorers.
